Why Should I Choose Sedation Dentistry?

If dental visits cause you to avoid necessary care, you’re not alone. You have options. Sedation dentistry allows patients to receive treatment without the anxiety, discomfort, or sensory overload that sometimes comes with dental procedures.

If you’ve ever delayed a dental visit due to fear, sensitive teeth, or a strong gag reflex, sedation creates a gentler experience tailored to your needs. Whether it’s for a cleaning, cosmetic work, or restorative procedure, sedation can make each visit quicker, easier, and more peaceful.

At RH Dentistry in Memorial, we take a personalized approach to every sedation plan. Our team considers your medical history, procedure type, and comfort level before recommending the ideal option, such as oral sedation or nitrous oxide. Plus, with advanced technology and a warm, spa-like setting, you’re in trusted, capable hands throughout your entire visit.

The Benefits Of Sedation Dentistry

Reduces Anxiety and Fear

Dental anxiety affects more people than you might think. Sedation promotes deeper relaxation so you can feel calm and remain still throughout your procedure without experiencing panic or stress.

Improves Treatment Efficiency

With sedation, patients are more relaxed, allowing your dentist to work more quickly and thoroughly. This can reduce the number of visits needed and help multiple treatments to be completed in a single session.

Enhances Patient Comfort

From sensitive teeth to strong gag reflexes, sedation helps reduce physical discomfort. At RH Dentistry, your comfort is our priority, and sedation helps us honor that commitment with every treatment.

Find Out if No prep Veneers are Right for You

If you're looking a minimally invasive treatment to enhance your smile, no prep veneers offer a cutting-edge solution. These are custom-designed to fit seamlessly over your natural teeth—no shaving and often no enamel removal required. No prep veneers deliver a brighter, more balanced smile with minimal impact on your existing tooth structure.

Night Guards

Unconscious teeth grinding and clenching, known as bruxism, is a common issue that tends to happen at night while patients are asleep. However, night guards can help patients alleviate symptoms of bruxism by creating a barrier between your teeth that protects them from grinding-related damage. Depending on the severity of the case, night guards can be made from several different materials with varying degrees of softness.

TMJ Relief with Botox

If you’re dealing with jaw pain, tension headaches, or teeth grinding from TMJ, Botox could offer the relief you’ve been looking for. We use Botox as a targeted, non-surgical treatment to relax overactive jaw muscles and ease TMJ symptoms. Most patients notice significant improvement in comfort, mobility, and sleep within days. Treatment is quick, comfortable, and performed right here in our office.

Why We Use ProSomnus Technology for Sleep Apnea

At RH Dentistry of Memorial, we offer a more modern, comfortable way to treat sleep apnea — no bulky machines, no masks, no noise. ProSomnus oral appliances are custom-fit, slim devices that gently hold your airway open while you sleep.

They’re easy to wear, travel-friendly, and clinically proven to be effective across all levels of sleep apnea. Many patients see a major reduction in snoring, better oxygen levels, and a real improvement in daily energy and focus. Plus, they’re often covered by medical insurance or Medicare. If you’re looking for a CPAP alternative that fits your lifestyle, this is it.

The Sedation Dentistry Treatment Process

Personalized Consultation and Assessment

Before scheduling your treatment, you’ll meet with Dr. Boecker or Dr. Kleiber for a consultation. We’ll review your medical history, discuss any past dental experiences, and determine your specific needs. This is where we decide on the best sedation method for you, such as nitrous oxide ("laughing gas") or oral conscious sedation. The goal is to tailor your care based on overall health and dental goals while alleviating any sources of apprehension.

Preparing for Your Visit

Once your sedation plan is in place, we provide clear instructions for how to prepare for your visit to RH Dentistry. For oral sedation, you will need to be accompanied by a responsible adult who can drive you to and from our office. This is because you will not be able to safely drive until the effects of the sedative wear off completely, which can take a few hours.

Day of Treatment and Monitoring

On the day of your procedure, you'll be welcomed into a calm environment that feels more like a spa than a clinic. Once sedation begins, we’ll monitor you closely throughout the appointment using advanced technology to ensure your safety and comfort. Most patients feel drowsy, relaxed, and at ease. Some even drift off to sleep. Our team is extensively trained and equipped to manage every aspect of care with warmth, precision, and compassion.
